Best Football Card Boxes To Buy 2022: January Releases
2021 Panini Rookies & Stars
Slated for release in January of 2022, Rookies & Stars is a perfect box for casual collector’s who aren’t looking to break the bank on a hobby box. Each box contains six packs with ten cards in each. Within those 60 cards, you can expect to pull 2 autographs and 2 memorabilia cards on average. Additionally, there will be an average of 5 numbered parallels and 12 rookies within that 60 card mix. Lastly, don’t forget to keep you’re eyes open for the fan favorite Crusade insert!
2021 Panini Phoenix
It’s won’t be long before this wonderful Panini Brand once again “rises from the ashes” to find it’s perch in hobby shops across the country. When it comes to prices, this hobby box will set you back a bit more than the previous on the list but still is no where near as expensive of some the more high end brands. Just like the Rookies & Stars box, you’ll receive 60 cards in a box of Phoenix. However, the cards are spread across five packs instead of six with a total of 12 in each pack. Look for 2 autographs, 2 silver parallels, 9 numbered parallels, 1 memorabilia, and 12 rookies per box on average.

Best Football Card Boxes To Buy 2022: February Releases
2021 Panini Obsidian
Panini Obsidian is without a doubt one of the coolest designs coming in 2022. The cards feature dark overtones with a layout style reminiscent to that of the Gold Standard collection. In addition to the layout, Obsidian also shares the quality of exclusivity with Gold Standard. For example, each box comes with just one pack that contains only 7 cards. Before you starting screaming RIP OFF, you should note that out of those seven cards four will be either feature autographs or memorabilia. Additionally, you’ll get 2 parallels or inserts and one base card. Talk about all killer no filler! Speaking of inserts, the highly coveted Color Blast Black is back for another year and is sure to be on of the most popular (and valuable) cards in the set.
Expected Release Date: February 2nd, 2022
2021 Panini Limited
With one Panini Limited hobby box including 3 packs with 5 cards in each, the name of this collection rings true. While that may seem like very little cards for the price, you’re gonna find 2 autographs, 1 parallel, 1 2000 Limited Tribute, and 1 patch card per box. So if you’re not a fan of base cards this is an upcoming release you’ll need to consider. Just like the previously released Panini Black, Panini Obsidian, and Panini Gold Standard collections, the hefty price per card may very well prove worth it.

While the collection was released last year, the redemption cards of this year’s top rookies are finally starting to roll out. And since they have the name Panini Select backing them, rest assured these are going to be some of the most valuable cards featuring the 2021 NFL rookies. Period. Several of cards from the redemption collection have already sold for well over $5,000 and we’d expect that number to continue to rise as more come out. And when these rookies REALLY start to hit their stride.
As far as prices go, expect to pay big dollars for a box. However, with an exciting line up of the 2021 year rookies (and last year’s as well) the $1,500 price per box may end up being worth it. Each box contains 12 packs with 5 cards in each. By the way, each box comes with not one but TWO autographs so keep your eyes peeled!
