With plenty of minutes on the court and a start in every game of the season, Wagner has emerged as an early threat to take home the 2021-22 Rookie of the Year honors. Therefore it goes without saying that there’s a fair amount of interest in the early Franz Wagner rookie card releases. While he hails from Germany, Wagner played his college ball for the Michigan Wolverines. In his 2nd and final college season Wagner average more than 12 points and 6 rebounds per game. Nothing off the charts, but Wagner’s play was definitely a factor in getting the Wolverines back to the Elite eight in 2021. His solid performance and ability to help out in many ways was also a factor in why he was drafted at 8 overall by Orlando. He’s also only 20 years old so look for these attributes to only get better with age.

Franz Wagner Rookie Card Investment Strategy
Short (1 year or less)
While it’s hard to imagine that Wagner will be an instant star player, he’s shown that he’s more than capable of keeping up the solid all around play that is making him one of most talked about rookies of 2021-22. With the Franz Wagner rookie card market being incredibly affordable at the moment, a solid performance throughout the course of the season should reward card owners with some small to moderate gains. However, if you have to choose between Wagner and one of the other first round picks, there are some other players that deserve more of your attention.

The Magic have plenty of work to do before they are a viewed as a serious threat. To say the least. While Wagner should help the team improve, he isn’t going to be the player that propels the rebuilding team back to the playoffs. That said, Franz we’d look at this one as a short term play that could make some decent profits THIS YEAR. Simply put, there are better options to tie up your bankroll when it comes to this year’s rookie crop.
